Tottenham flop Federico Fazio is expecting to complete a return to Sevilla in January but is having to wait for the two clubs to agree a deal, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
Marca claim Fazio was lined up for a return to Spain in the summer but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy made negotiations difficult and used an offer from West Brom to drive up the price he wanted Sevilla to pay.
Fazio refused to sign for the Baggies, claim Marca, but Levy still refused to budge on his demands as Sevilla tried to close in on Fazio’s return.
It is claimed Fazio is only interested in a return to his former club in La Liga and wants the two clubs to come to an agreement in January.
However, Marca claim Sevilla are expecting Levy to continue being difficult as he tries to recoup as much of the £8million he paid for the Argentine in August 2014.
Marca report that Levy is “the main problem” for Sevilla and is trying to force Sevilla to pay than they want to.
Fazio has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League since arriving in north London, making just 14 Premier League appearances in 18 months.
