Tottenham set to offer Bale a bumper deal

An increasingly tense White Hart LaneIn an effort to keep him at the club next season, Spurs are reportedly set to offer Gareth Bale a massive pay rise.

There is a queue of clubs who would be ready to pay big money for the Welsh flyer, with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United all said to be very keen but Spurs believe he will stay where he is.

The PFA’s Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Football Writers’ Player of the Year currently earns £75,000 a week apparently and that will rise to £130,000 under his new deal.

Andre Villas-Boas said last week that Bale will stay at the Lane irrespective of where they finish in the Premier League this season but, if they were to make the top four and the Champions League, it could well turn out to be easier to persuade him to stay.
