Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic impressed against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on Tuesday night, and the English outfit should make a bid for the Croatia international during the January transfer window.

What's the story?

Brozovic played the full 90 minutes as Inter came from behind to record a 2-1 win over Tottenham in their Champions League opener on Tuesday night.

Tottenham led through Christian Eriksen, but Mauro Icardi levelled in the latter stages before Matias Vecino came up with a winner for the home side.

Brozovic was outstanding in the middle of the park, and Tottenham should be looking to make a bid for the Croatian in the January transfer window.

Brozovic also played a key role in Croatia reaching the final of the 2018 World Cup, and might relish the chance to play in the Premier League.

Spurs would face a fight to take the 25-year-old away from the San Siro, but there is no question that he would be worth the battle.

What would he bring to Tottenham?

Brozovic knows what it takes to win trophies having lifted two league titles during his time at Dinamo Zagreb.

The midfielder also has big-game experience, and his ability to play in a number of positions would make him a valuable asset for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Eric Dier has come in for more criticism following his performance at Inter, whilst the future of Mousa Dembele remains unclear.

There is no question that central midfield is a problem for Tottenham when considering that Harry Winks and Victor Wanyama have both had their injury problems.

The Premier League outfit were not prepared to spend in the summer, but should be looking to make a bid for Brozovic - valued at £31.5m by Transfermarkt - when the winter window opens for business.
