According to respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, AC Milan will allow Swiss full-back Ricardo Rodriguez to leave the club for just £13m in this summer's transfer window.

What's the story?

Rodriguez joined Milan from Wolfsburg last summer, and the full-back made 47 appearances in all competitions for his Serie A outfit during the 2017-18 campaign - scoring four goals.

Financial problems mean that Milan will be forced to sell some of their key players this summer, however, and according to Di Marzio, the 25-year-old could be available for as little as £13m.

Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have both been credited with an interest in a player who will represent Switzerland at the 2018 World Cup.

However, there are bound to be a number of other clubs closely monitoring developments, and it would not be a surprise to see a host of Premier League teams join the race.

Why should Tottenham make a move?

Danny Rose is still with Spurs, but there is every chance that the England international will move on this summer due to his strained relationship with the club.

Ben Davies impressed for long spells of last season, but the left-back did face criticism from the Tottenham fans for some lacklustre performances.

Rodriguez is just the type of player that Tottenham need to sign this summer, and the 51-time international could turn out to be the bargain of the current transfer window.

There is every reason to believe that the left-back will continue to develop as a footballer, and he has already gained an incredible amount of experience for a player that is still relatively young.

Rodriguez also again showed his class against Spain last weekend - scoring Switzerland's equaliser in the entertaining international friendly.

Tottenham may well have to battle a number of clubs for the defender this summer, but he would be a fine addition for the Premier League outfit.
