Tottenham Hotspur are bracing themselves for a £100million bid for star playmaker Christian Eriken from Paris Saint-Germain according to The Express.

What's the story?

The 26-year-old joined Spurs back in 2013 and the talent has gone on to make 172 league appearances for the club, scoring 41 goals and registering 48 assists.

The Danish international is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract offered by the club at the start of the summer which has led to fears that he could be taken abroad with foreign clubs able to make signings until the end of August.

Eriksen, who has two years left on his current deal, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and is now a reported target for PSG who are readying a £100million bid according to the report.

Keep him at all costs

Even though the mooted offer seems the going rate for a player of Eriksen's quality in the current market, he is worth so much to Tottenham that they can't afford to lose him whatever the offer.

Mauricio Pochettino won't be able to bring anyone else in to replace the talent who is the beating heart of the Spurs team with his incredible creativity and vision.

If Daniel Levy lets a player of the quality of Eriksen go before the end of August, Tottenham can kiss goodbye to their Premier League title ambitions and their reputation as a selling club and training ground for the European elite will unfortunately return.
