So far, Jose Mourinho has added just one player to his Tottenham squad.

The big fat Tottenham quiz of 2019 - how much do you remember about the last year at Spurs?

And even that is only the loan signing of Gedson Fernandes. With less than a week of the January transfer window left, they will need to move fast to bring in their desired transfer targets.

It is now being reported by Bild's Christian Falk that Spurs have Bundesliga quartet Timo Werner, Wout Weghorst, Mario Gotze and Paco Alcacer in their sights, with agent Pini Zahavi asked to help bring at least one of them to north London.

This report has got the Spurs fans talking, and it seems that the news on Werner is of particular interest.

The Germany international is being targeted by a whole host of clubs, including Liverpool. With 20 goals in 19 Bundesliga matches this term, he would be a great addition to the north London outfit's squad.

Weghorst also appears to be receiving some love.

Since moving to Wolfsburg in the summer of 2018, the Netherlands international has scored 29 goals in 61 matches. Currently valued at £24.3m by Transfermarkt, he would also be worth taking a punt on.

One fan, meanwhile, has asked for all four to be brought to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Werner (£67.5m), Weghorst (£24.3m), Gotze (£16.2m) and Alcacer (£37.8m) have a combined Transfermarkt value of £152.8m. It is almost unthinkable that Daniel Levy would part with anything close to that sum.

One other fan has a more cynical view.

That sounds more likely, especially with Harry Kane still to be the number one striker when he returns from injury.
