Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Goal) which states that Fernando Llorente could leave Napoli and rejoin Spurs on a loan deal until the end of the campaign.

The Spain international only left the north London club at the end of last season after the expiry of his contract, but seeing as recently appointed Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso has handed the striker just six minutes of game time in each of the Italian side's last two Serie A outings, it doesn't appear as if he's high up in the pecking order.

The 34-year-old has scored three goals and grabbed one assist in 15 league appearances this season, although only three of those showings have been starts.

In Tottenham's case, Jose Mourinho is in need of a striker after losing Harry Kane to a torn hamstring, while discussions have reportedly taken place over the availability of another Serie A attacker Krzysztof Piatek.

Llorente played a crucial role in Spurs' run to the Champions League final last season, scoring the winning goal against Manchester City in the quarter-final, while also changing the game against Ajax in the semi-final with his aerial dominance - it was his kneed flick-on that led to Lucas Moura's late winner.

Let's see how the Tottenham fans on Twitter reacted to the news regarding the former Athletic Bilbao striker...

To kick off the reaction, these three supporters didn't sound too pleased with this news in the slightest.

One supporter named George said that this move would be "typical Levy", before also saying that "we will never win things under this tight little man".

Another said that, if this is Levy's solution to the striker crisis, then he's "worse than I thought".

Lastly, Dan said that the news was "pathetic".

Elsewhere, Stuart described this as the "ultimate definition of Spursy" before stating that it really wouldn't surprise him if Llorente ended up returning after being let go just a matter of months ago.

Lastly, these two fans expressed openness towards a return for the Spaniard.
