Tottenham submit £20m+ offer for La Liga superstar

Tottenham have made a formal approach to Atletico Madrid over striker Jackson Martinez, according to Spanish news source Marca.

The Colombian only moved to the Spanish capital from Porto this summer though has failed to justify his hefty £24.5m price tag.

Having recorded just three goals in 20 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side, the La Liga giants are reportedly looking to offload him as soon as this month.

Spurs chief Mauricio Pochettino is understood to be chasing additions to his frontline to act as both cover and competition for star man Harry Kane in their quest to reach the Champions League.

While the last big money striker the North London side acquired for big money, Roberto Soldado, did not work out, the report suggest an offer has been made.

Equating to around £22.8m, the Premier League side are reported to have submitted the bid to those behind the scenes at the Vicente Calderon.
