Tottenham to revive transfer interest in Uruguayan

Alvaro Pereira (Inter Milan)Tottenham could reignite their interest in Inter Milan’s Alvaro Pereira after the full-back’s agent admitted that his client will consider his future this winter, according to reports from talkSPORT.

Spurs were linked with a move for the Uruguayan international over the summer as Andre Villas-Boas stepped up his rebuilding plans at White Hart Lane.

However, a deal failed to materialise which has left the Londoners short of cover on the left side of defence.

AVB has only Danny Rose to call on as a specialist in the position, with Benoit Assou-Ekotto having left to join QPR on loan.

As a result, the Portuguese coach has been linked with a move to add some depth to his squad.

Pereira is believed to be Villas-Boas’ top target, and the 28-year-old’s agent, Flavio Perchman, has hinted that his client may be open to a January switch.

“His relationship with [Inter Milan manager Walter] Mazzarri is good. Now Alvaro is working very hard in training to convince the coach to play him in Serie A,” Perchman said.

“We will see [if he will leave in the next transfer window] – it is too early to talk about this scenario. Obviously Pereira needs to play as the World Cup is at the end of the season. In December or January we will evaluate the situation.”

AVB coached Pereira while at Porto, and was linked with a move to bring him to Chelsea while in charge of the Blues.

Tottenham fans, should AVB move for Alvaro Pereira?
