Manager Andre Villas-Boas is keen to bring the two Belgians to the Premier League, as he looks to build a squad strong enough to qualify for the Champions League.
Standard Liege defender Opare is only 22-years-old, and is being tipped as a possible replacement for Benoit Assou-Ekotto. The Ghanaian youngster can also play at centre-back, and his versatility has caught AVB’s eye.
Opare is aware of Tottenham’s interest, and has opened the door wide open for a move to north London.
“I am flattered by the interest of Spurs. They are a very good team in England I will jump at the chance to join them if they reach an agreement with my current club,” Opare said.
“I know there is a long way to go yet and also the level in England is a lot higher than in Belgium, but I think I can play there at a good level. If I get the chance to play for a team like Tottenham I will take it.”
AVB is keen on signing Opare’s countryman Nacer Chaldi too. The FC Twente winger has already been the subject of a £6million bid from Spurs, and the club are expected to come in with an improved offer of £8m.
Chadli has just one year left on his contract, and could leave the Dutch side for a reduced fee.
Will the duo do well at Tottenham? Are the youngsters what Spurs need?
