Tottenham Warned Off Roma ace

Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo

Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas has been dealt a blow in the hunt for a new striker after being told Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo is ‘non-transferable’, as reported by talkSPORT.

A former agent of the player a current friend Dario Decoud has confirmed that the pacey striker is set to stay in Rome to repay the faith shown in him in recent years.

The in-form forward started for Italy in their 2-2 draw with Brazil on Thursday night and is expected to have a host of teams after him in the summer.

Spurs are desperate to sign at least one top striker after current pair Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor have failed to hit the heights of recent season this time around and Villas-Boas didn’t bag any of his targets in January.

Despite Roma struggling to qualify for next seasons Champions League, Osvaldo is set to stay for at least one more season.

“Osvaldo is very focused and wants to finish this season well,” Decoud told Sport Mediaset.

“Pablo wants to repay the faith shown in him by [Coach Auerlio] Andreazzoli.

“I know for certainty that Roma consider him a key player and virtually non-transferable.”
