Tottenham Hotspur attacker Dele Alli has paid tribute to Mauricio Pochettino in the aftermath of the Argentine’s sacking as head coach.
Spurs announced on Tuesday evening that Pochettino had been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.
The 47-year-old’s coaching staff Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino and Antoni Jimenez have also departed as the club prepare to enter a new era.
It would be fair to say that there have been a fair few tweets on the matter with fans, pundits and players taking to social media.
Alli was the first Spurs player to break rank and post a message.
And the England international was full of praise for Pochettino, revealing that he was “so grateful” for everything that the South American had done for him.
Alli has struggled for form this season, scoring just twice in 10 appearances for Spurs.
The midfielder has enjoyed plenty of success with Pochettino in recent years, though, having been signed for £5m in 2015, and the 23-year-old has been full of admiration for his now former head coach.

I can’t thank this man enough. He’s taught me so much and I’m so grateful for everything he’s done for me. Good luck and hope to see you again my friend. pic.twitter.com/dUO6AJlMxR
