Tottenham Hotspur, per Football Insider, have recalled Jack Clarke from Leeds United.

What’s the word?

Spurs bought Clarke in the summer but he was instantly loaned back to the Championship club.

However, he struggled to get into Marcelo Bielsa’s side, playing just 19 minutes in the second-tier, and is set to return to north London.

The report states that Clarke left the club on Christmas Day to rejoin Jose Mourinho’s men.

Mourinho is said to be keen to see Clarke in training before he commits to a decision on whether to include him in his first-team squad or loan him out again.

Get him playing

The key for Clarke is that he plays football.

This is a 19-year-old with precious few first-team minutes under his belt across the past 12 months. Even last season, he only made four Championship starts.

Clearly, he’s talented and Spurs surely see something in him; he has been capped four times by England U20s.

Money talks: How much did Levy pay for each of these Spurs stars?

However, he’s not going to reach that potential if he isn’t given a chance, be it at another club on loan or in the U23s.

Either way, he needs to be on a pitch, and that has to be Spurs’ priority.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho is repeating one of Mauricio Pochettino's mistakes at Spurs.
