Transfer U-turn: One Spurs deal back on, but other remains uncertain

According to reports from L’Equipe, Tottenham Hotspur could still land transfer target Georges Kevin N’Koudou in a loan deal from Marseille.

Spurs reportedly agreed a transfer fee with the French club midway through July for the 21-year-old, who bagged ten goals and five assists in 41 appearances across all competitions during his debut campaign at Stade Velodrome.

The France U21 was believed to have passed a medical soon after but last Thursday, N’Koudou was reported to be in a hotel in London still waiting for his White Hart Lane move to be completed.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the transfer deal had collapsed, allegedly due to Daniel Levy’s attempts to restructure the deal in Tottenham’s favour.

But the latest reports from L’Equipe suggest N’Koudou could still be plying his trade in north London next season, albeit via a loan move instead.

What that means for Spurs forward Clinton N’Jie, however, who was meant to move the other way, remains unclear.
