Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is keen to move to the Premier League and is being monitored by Tottenham Hotspur, per 90min.
The forward has been in electric form for the Scottish club this season.
The 21-year-old has scored 16 goals and also provided 15 assists across 31 appearances for the Bhoys in 2019/20 and has been capped at various youth levels by France, scoring 11 goals in just six appearances for the U21s.
90min reports that Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United are all interested in a deal for Edouard and he is keen to pursue the possibility.
The big fat Tottenham quiz of 2019 – how much do you remember about the last year at Spurs?
Formerly of PSG, the forward’s excellent goalscoring return this season could well see him seal a move to the English top-flight, although the report places doubts over whether Celtic would allow him to leave mid-season.
This would be a good piece of business from Spurs as they need an understudy to first-choice forward Harry Kane now more than ever, with the England skipper sidelined through injury.
Edouard’s goalscoring record speaks for itself – in total, he has netted 49 goals in 112 outings for Celtic and has also registered 27 assists – and he has the profile needed to make the jump to the Premier League.
An imposing forward with an excellent turn of pace and the creativity needed to make opportunities, he would offer a different threat to Kane, who has become a less dynamic player over the last few seasons.
Reinforcements are needed and Edouard would be a fine signing mid-season, but that variety with Kane’s game would give Jose Mourinho plenty to work with once both forwards are back fit as well.
Spurs, then, should look to beat their rivals to the punch and make a move quickly.
Meanwhile, Spurs have been urged to finally land a target from 2013.
