Troy Parrott has been named in Republic of Ireland's 39-man provisional squad for their upcoming internationals with New Zealand and Denmark.

The full selection was revealed on Tuesday afternoon, with ROI due to face New Zealand in a friendly on November 14 before hosting Denmark in their final Euro 2020 qualifier on November 18.

Parrott was heavily involved in Tottenham Hotspur's preparations for the 2019/20 campaign, suggesting that he would perhaps be given some league football this term as back-up to Harry Kane.

However, the 17-year-old's only first-team action this season has come in the EFL Cup, which is a competition that Spurs are no longer in having been dumped out by Colchester United on penalties.

As expected, a number of Tottenham fans took to social media to react to the news.

And many have called for first-team manager Mauricio Pochettino to follow suit by including the youngster in the squad for their upcoming matches.
