Harry Kane scored a hat-trick for Tottenham Hotspur against Leicester City in the Premier League to overtake Diego Costa as the league’s top scorer.
The soon-to-be England striker now has 19 goals to his Chelsea rival’s 18, although Costa has a chance to retake his mantle when his team take on Hull City tomorrow. Kane’s record is all the more impressive when you consider the fact that the Spurs star was left out of his team’s starting XI for most of the first half of the campaign.
It was only through his scoring form in the Europa League that Harry Kane was able to force himself into Mauricio Pochettino’s Premier League plans. Kane has provided three assists in the Premier League to go along with his 19 goals so far this season.
On the other hand, Diego has been only able to provide his team with two assists and has made more appearances (22) than his Tottenham counterpart.
