Two players Tottenham must buy and one they should sell this summer
Tottenham Hotspur haven’t been very active at all in the summer transfer market, but manager Mauricio Pochettino will surely want to up the ante in the coming days and weeks – especially with the window closing early on August 9 this year.
While you could argue that the Spurs squad doesn’t need too much of an overhaul – especially with Harry Kane and Davinson Sanchez among the players that have signed new contracts since the end of the 2017/18 campaign – there will certainly be a few positions they need strengthening in if they are to compete with Manchester City and others for the Premier League title this term.
Those reinforcements could come in midfield in particular – the defensive, central and attacking midfield roles may need some work – especially with Mousa Dembele being heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan or the Chinese Super League.
Pochettino, whose signing of a 6ft 5in colossus would signal another transfer disaster for him, and Daniel Levy have already shown their ambition by smashing their wage budget to pay talisman Kane £200,000-a-week, and now they must make it a priority to make some marquee additions, in conjunction with letting individuals leave.
Here are two huge signings Tottenham must make this summer, as well as one major sale…
