Two Tottenham youngsters Pochettino must bring into the starting XI vs Rochdale

Tottenham Hotspur face League One outfit Rochdale in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Spotland on Sunday, and given the important Premier League and Champions League fixtures ahead Mauricio Pochettino may see it as the perfect opportunity to make a few changes to his XI.

Spurs recovered from a dreadful start against Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday night as they came from 2-0 down early on to secure a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their last 16 tie, while they are in fifth position in the top flight standings, but only four points adrift of second-place Manchester United as they look to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition once again.

While the north London outfit will view the FA Cup as the perfect opportunity to end their 10-year trophy drought, the fact that they are playing a side that is currently lying bottom of the third tier of English football should mean that Pochettino is willing to blood some of his youngsters – even if they were held to a 1-1 draw away at League Two Newport County in the previous round.

The Argentine boss may look to rest some of his key men – or at least name them on the substitutes’ bench this weekend – and he may look to give some of his younger players a chance to impress.
