West Ham fail to hijack £16m deal, target will join Spurs this week instead

According to reports from Mirror Football, Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Vincent Janssen this week after the AZ Alkmaar striker rejected a rival approach from West Ham.

The 22-year-old striker signed for AZ only last summer but went on to finish up as the Eredivisie’s top scorer during his debut top flight campaign, netting 27 times in 34 appearances.

Spurs have been linked with the Netherlands international, who boasts three goals and five caps for his country frequently in the build up to the summer window.

In fact, they’ve already seen a bid rejected by AZ, leading Janssen to publicly criticise his club and reveal his desire to move on this summer.

According to Dutch publication De Telegraaf, the 5 foot 11 striker has since received offers from West Ham and French champions PSG – but he’s rejected them both in favour of pushing through a move to White Hart Lane.

And Mirror Football claim Janssen’s much anticipated move to north London is now expected to be wrapped up by the end of the week in a £16million deal.
