You what? Spurs star named in Team of the Weekend despite massive issue

Picking a team of the weekend is a tricky task. No matter what happens, you’re going to upset a certain section of fans, while the element of opinion makes all XIs somewhat subjective.

However, there are some baffling decisions – like Garth Crooks’ weekly 1-4-5 formations – and The Metro have made a real boo-boo with their latest effort.

Granted, Spurs were excellent on the weekend as they steamrollered a Stoke side that look likely to be in a relegation battle, with their full-backs making the sort of marauding runs that characterise Mauricio Pochettino’s philosophy.

So, it makes sense to pick one of their best full-backs, right? Well, The Metro chose Danny Rose – the only problem being that the Englishman wasn’t even in Spurs ‘match-day squad after picking up an injury while on international duty. Whoops!

The report has since been altered to include the actual left-back, Ben Davies, but in the modern world not even the smallest slip up goes unnoticed. Here are the screenshots.
