Tottenham boss hopeful a deal can be struck

Harry Redknapp has expressed his desire to keep Ledley King at the football club.

The Tottenham centre half's contract is due to expire at the end of the season and King is keen to continue his stay at White Hart Lane, although talks have yet to take place over a new deal.

Ledley King's injury problems are well documented; however he has featured in six of the opening nine games this season and played a significant part in Tottenham's excellent start to the season that sees them currently in third place in the Premier League.

Harry is adamant that he wants to see King remain at WHL for years to come and hopes a new deal can be struck:

"I'd love to keep Ledley here, for sure. He's a big part of this football club – I think he's a special player and a special guy. He's come through this football club, and you need to keep players like that at the club." (SkySports)
