Twitter reacts as Everton stun Man United

What a start for Roberto Martinez’s side in their Premier League clash with Manchester United!

Much of the pre-match chat was around Radamel Falcao again being benched, Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney returning to their former clubs (to abuse, no doubt) and Angel Di Maria, yet again, not deemed good enough for a starting spot by Louis van Gaal.

Everton’s James McCarthy clearly didn’t get the script, and stunned Manchester United by giving the Toffees an early lead and, in turn, continuing their recent good form.

The former Wigan Athletic midfielder finished off a sweeping and well worked counter attacking move – although he was helped by some poor defending from the United back four.

McCarthy’s opener was in fact the sixth game in a row that Martinez’s side have opened the scoring, the type of form that the Toffees faithful must no doubt be wondering where it was earlier in the season.

Anyway, Twitter reacted as only Twitter does after the midfielder’s opener!
