Valencia lead Premier League trio in race for striker

Celta Vigo striker Iago AspasValencia have edged ahead of Chelsea, Reading and Swansea in the race for Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas, report talkSPORT.

The Premier League trio are rumoured to be interested in the Spaniard, who has been in fine form for the newly promoted La Liga club this term.

It’s rumoured that all three are preparing January bids for his signature, but they face competition from Celta’s domestic rivals Valencia.

Los Che are believed to have agreed a pre-contract deal with the 25-year-old ahead of summer move, after he stated his desire to remain with his boyhood club for the remainder of the season.

A fee of £8.5m has been settled between the teams, although a move is yet to be finalised.

This leaves the door open for Chelsea, Reading and Swansea, who could rival the Mestalla-based outfit in the race for his services.

Aspas has been in fine form this term, netting eight league goals to help keep his team clear of the relegation zone.

He was in prolific form during their promotion winning campaign, notching 23 goals as Celta finished runners up to Deportivo La Coruna.

Aspas has spent his entire career at the Estadio Balaidos and has been likened to Barcelona star David Villa in recent times.
