Objective number one for Arsene Wenger this summer was to avoid being drawn into to another long-running saga. Objective number two was to tie down captain Robin Van Persie to a new long term contract. Sadly for the Gunners boss he's been unable to fulfil either. Van Persie's future remains unresolved amid reports that two of football's wealthiest clubs will go toe-to-toe in the battle for his signature. Rumours have certainly gathered pace that Premier League winning manager Roberto Mancini and Carlo Ancelotti are set to test Wenger's resolve to hold onto his captain by tabling a £20 million - money that the Frenchman may struggle to turn down after spending £23m on Oliver Giroud and Lukas Podolski. After seeing the destructive effect Cesc Fabergas and Samir Nasri's departures had at the Emirates Stadium last year Wenger must ask himself if it's worth going through it all again with Van Persie after talks over a new deal stalled.

This week on FFC is which players could be on their way out of the North London club and is Wenger targeting the right players to maintain a top three position?
