Lukas Podolski completed a loan move to Inter Milan this week from Arsenal, in what will no doubt be the least surprising transfer deal of the whole window.
The World Cup winner has regularly voiced his concerns over his lack of playing time under Arsene Wenger and, at 29, he certainly won’t want to be sitting on the bench as his peak years reach an end.
Arsenal fans seem split on whether Le Professeur’s reluctance to utilise the former Bayern Munich forward was the correct decision. There seems to be two sides to stand on, either that he was the most clinical and only genuine match-winner in the squad (prior to Alexis Sanchez’s arrival) or that his efficentness in front of goal is counteracted by his lack of work ethic when Arsenal aren’t in possession.
Whatever the answer, no doubt Arsenal fans would have loved to have seen Podolski do this against Stoke City this Sunday rather than in his first training session for Inter Milan.
