Watford entered the Premier League in incredible fashion last term but faded out as the season went on, resulting in Quique Sanchez Flores losing his job.
The Hornets have appointed former Inter Milan boss Walter Mazzarri since then and will want to push on from what they achieved last season – a respectable 13th place finish.
Building momentum is key, so the Hornets will look at how they start and see if they can open the season with a hot run of form that can so regularly give teams the platform to achieve a good season.
