Remi Garde’s Aston Villa have enjoyed something of a mini-revival in recent weeks as they look to make it three games unbeaten in this Midlands derby.
Villa are still ten points from safety despite registering a win and a draw from their last two Premier League outings, but there have been signs they can go on a little run of form to give them every chance of completely the greatest of escapes.
West Brom, however, will be desperate to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat to Southampton last weekend, a game in which they failed to register a single shot on target.
The Baggies are in a position in the league where a win could put them in contention of a top ten finish, while a loss would drag them in to what is already becoming a fierce battle to avoid the drop.
What will boost their confidence is the fact they are unbeaten in their last five Premier League home games against Villa.
