There was a real sense of surprise when West Ham announced the loan signing of Alex Song from Barcelona back in the summer, with the acquisition of the midfielder seen as a major coup for Sam Allardyce’s side.
West Ham have been one of the surprise packages of this season so far, as they look to spoil the usual party of the top six, and it has been Alex Song that has taken a lot of the plaudits for the Hammers challenging at the right end of the table.
Anyway, during the first-half of West Ham’s clash with Manchester United, it appeared that Song took a trip down memory lane and seemingly forgot that he didn’t play for Arsenal anymore and that neither did Robin van Persie as well.
In his own penalty box, the Barcelona midfielder rather bizarrely played in the United striker but the Netherlands international was unable to make the gifted chance count.
