It hasn't quite been the season West Ham fans would have hoped it would be following their move to the Olympic Stadium, with the Hammers earning more back-page space for negative off-field incidents than they are for their displays on the field.

Sat just one point above the relegation zone with just 11 points to their name from 11 matches, Hammers fans have been given further reason to worry after star-man Dimitri Payet refused to rule-out an exit from the club.

The Euro 2016 finalist is one of few players in West Ham's squad that can be considered as close to a world-class level but with Slaven Bilic's side not in Europe this season and looking out of the reckoning for continental action next year, Payet's time in East London could well be up.

Usually when a star player is linked with an exit from any club, it's met with angry responses from fans or sheer denial that it could happen- but West Ham fans understand why he would leave, which pretty much sums up the way the season has been going for far for them.
