West Ham fans in meltdown over former €20 million striker

Mauro Zarate completed his loan move from West Ham to Queens Park Rangers today, despite less than a week ago the proposed deal collapsing due to – unconfirmed – rumours that the former Birmingham City striker had failed a medical due to lack of match fitness.

Anyway, that was all clearly Twitter rumours with Zarate pictured posing, holding his QPR hoops aloft earlier today – it could’ve been the stripes of Crystal Palace, though, had the Eagles succeeded with Alan Pardew’s late swoop.

Zarate, despite spending just a few months at Upton Park, instantly became a fan favourite with his first goal for the Hammers against Palace being a particular beauty. However, ever since that clash, the Chilean has found game time harder and harder to come by under Sam Allardyce – rumours suggest the former Bolton Wanderers gaffer isn’t a fan of Zarate due to the fact he was brought to the club by David Sullivan.

Anyway, West Ham fans are struggling to come to terms with Zarate linking up with their former manager Harry Redknapp:
