We’re glad it’s back, aren’t you? We’re of course talking about the new football season, which has kicked and screamed its way back into our lives with an excellent opening weekend of action, with shock results, great goals and drama aplenty.
Perhaps the biggest story of the weekend was young Reece Oxford’s composed showing in midfield for West ham as they beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium. The 16-year-old (SIXTEEN) ran the show in midfield, shackling World Cup winner Mesut Ozil while registering a pass completion record of 95%… and he managed all of that while sweating on his GCSE results! Wow.
Elsewhere, footy is back across Europe, and in Italy a former Man United man has been making an impact. Ravel Morrison has endured a somewhat tumultuous career to date, with off-field issues having detracted from his technical ability, but now over with Lazio he made a brief showing in the Super Cup against Juventus and could be in line for more games after a good pre-season.
Our very own Marcus Speller has been looking at all the biggest goings on and you can catch up with him below! Enjoy!
