According to reports in The Sun, Bournemouth are planning contract talks with winger Ryan Fraser following his impressive start to the campaign, and West Ham United should hijack those discussions to sign a player who would be an upgrade on Michail Antonio and Robert Snodgrass.

What's the word, then?

Well, The Sun says that the Cherries are ready to extend the Scot's stay at the Vitality Stadium given he has played a key role in their rise to sixth in the Premier League standings this season with three goals and a further three assists in eight top-flight appearances, as well as one goal and one assist in one outing in the EFL Cup.

The Sun reports that the 24-year-old only has 18 months remaining on his current deal and that Eddie Howe is keen to ensure he remains with them, with the 5ft 4in wide man having to bide his time before making his mark in the first team.

The Scot has really made an impact on the flank with his pace and trickery, and he is now adding a finishing product to his game.

Why should West Ham move for him?

With Michail Antonio reportedly surplus to requirements under Manuel Pellegrini and having come under fire from his own fans on Twitter for his performances, the east London outfit may soon need to look for a replacement for the 28-year-old to continue to compete with Andriy Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson and Robert Snodgrass.

While Fraser is impressing for the Cherries, he would surely see a move to the London Stadium as a big step up in terms of the size of the club and his ambitions for the future, and the Irons could easily pick him up for a reasonable fee if he chooses not to extend his current deal.

The 24-year-old would bring some much-needed speed and unpredictability in wide areas for Pellegrini, and he could help to transform the team’s attack given the quality and consistency he is beginning to show.
