Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho took the headlines during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with West Ham United after being sent off by referee Jon Moss for kicking a bottle.
Mourinho was aggrieved with a decision that went against his side in the first-half and sent a bottle flying down the touch-line, earning him another slapped-wrist from the Football Association for more poor behaviour.
It’ll be a case of deja vu this evening when the Hammers tackle United once again, this time in an EFL Cup quarter-final, and Slaven Bilic has had his say on the controversial incident from the weekend, making a funny observation to Sky Sports.
The problem is that he hit that bottle like – well it was a great volley, to be fair. He should have mis-kicked it! He hit it too good.”
Mourinho is likely to earn a touchline ban for his dismissal but has until tomorrow to respond to the charge, which means he won’t be absent for this evening’s clash- which will strike fear into bottled beverages throughout the Greater Manchester area.
