West Ham United are hoping to sell Carlos Sanchez if they bring in another midfielder, as reported by Football Insider.

What's the story?

It is suggested that David Moyes previously stated that no senior players should be sold by the Hammers in January, but he is now changing his mind on the Colombian.

West Ham are in the market for a new midfielder, with links having been made to Ronaldo Vieira and Tomas Soucek among others.

If they manage to bring in somebody to provide competition for Mark Noble and Declan Rice, then Sanchez will be allowed to leave the club.

A level below

This comes after his shocking performance against West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup on Saturday, which saw the 88-cap Colombian hauled off at half-time of the 1-0 loss.

He was incredibly ineffective while on the pitch, making one interception, and didn't compete in any aerial duels, as well as failing to make a successful tackle despite being dribbled past once - the accuracy of his passing was also not the best, as his success rate was 73%.

The 33-year-old hasn't done much more in his one Premier League start and five substitute appearances this term.

He averages 0.2 tackles, 0.3 interceptions, 0.2 clearances, 0.3 aerial duels won and no blocks per game, while his pass success rate is an improved 81.4%.

It's the dawn of a new decade in the Premier League, but how much do you know about the last 10 years?

All of the above shows that he is simply not up to the standard required for the Premier League, so the Hammers may struggle to get rid of him during the window.

Their aim of getting him out of the club will not be helped by the fact that he earns £50,000-a-week, while his current contract comes to an end in the summer of 2020.

If West Ham are able to get anything for the Colombian then it will be a bonus, but it is pretty hard to see them managing that considering how incompetent he has shown himself to be.

Meanwhile, FFC has suggested that West Ham should let their exciting pair head out on loan.
