Crystal Palace could be set to reignite their interest in West Ham winger Michail Antonio in January, according to Claret & Hugh.

What's the word?

Despite a spending spree that exceeded £100m in the summer, Manuel Pellegrini's West Ham have struggled to find their feet in the Premier League and have lost five of their opening eight matches, raising the need for further changes in January.

After spending so much in the summer, departures are likely to be required to help balance the books in East London and West Ham could be handed the opportunity to cash-in on Michail Antonio, as Claret & Hugh states Crystal Palace could revive their interest in the winger.

Linked with a swoop in the summer, Sky Sports reported a switch could see the Eagles pay around £15m for the former Nottingham Forest man and it is likely a similar fee would be required in January.

Should West Ham sell?

Despite appearing in seven of West Ham's eight Premier League matches so far this season, Michail Antonio is surplus to requirements following the summer signings of Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson.

Cashing in on the 28-year-old, who struggled with injury problems last term, makes sense for the Hammers as Antonio is a long way off the sort of form that saw him win Hammer of the Year in the 2016-17 campaign.

His importance in the squad has decreased significantly and the fee received for his services could be utilised by Pellegrini to strengthen key areas within the squad that are in need of additions, like the left side of defence and central midfield.
