Over the past 12 months, Declan Rice has become more of a regular feature in the West Ham United squad.
The 19-year-old made 26 appearances in the Premier League last season, with 15 of them being starts.
Under Manuel Pellegrini this term, the defender, who can also play in midfield, has started one fixture, but lasted just 46 minutes.
It is unclear how much Rice will figure over the course of the campaign, but it seems that the youngster is making a big decision about his international future.
As reported by The Guardian, Republic of Ireland coach Martin O’Neill has revealed that the teenager has ‘spoken’ to England and is deciding whether to continue representing Ireland or to switch allegiance.
Rice, who was born in London, has picked up three caps for the Republic of Ireland, but as they were all in friendlies, the versatile player can still play for England if he chooses.
Kevin Kilbane and James McClean have criticised Rice on Twitter, and now some West Ham fans have had their say.
