West Ham are one of several sides eyeing up a European place as we go into the second half of the season and it looks as though the Hammers could be on for one of their best Premier League seasons.
The successes of the last two transfer windows are fresh in the memory for many a Hammer and it looks as though Bilic is still keen to add to his squad. With a move to the Olympic Stadium on the horizon, the Hammers are looking to consolidate themselves as a top half Premier League team and hope to become a regular threat for European football.
One player who could be of huge assistance in achieving that goal is Gokhan Tore. The diminutive attacking midfield man would add to an army of highly talented Hammers in the final third and would help to create chances when the Hammers have struggled to find the net.
Here are FIVE reasons Tore is an ideal addition..
After a brilliant start to the season, Payet’s injury has hit the Hammers hard.
Their star summer signing has proved himself as one of the best creative players in the league and it looks as though the pressure on him to perform could become overwhelming. The addition of Tore, who can play anywhere behind the striker, would help relieve some of the burden off of the ex-Marseille man.
In any squad, the value of players who are comfortable in multiple positions is huge.
Tore is equally comfortable in a number 10 position as he would be as a wider player and this is crucial to any team who will want to rotate or interchange during the game.
With the current attacking midfield options at the club, Tore would be a welcome addition to Bilic and provide him with several new options.
Buying players in from Turkey, where Tore is currently playing, can be a high-reward strategy.
The prices are often lower, because of the stature of the league, but the players are of no less talent and will often be desperate to prove themselves in the biggest leagues.
Tore could prove to be another great unpolished gem.
If the Hammers are to make it into European football next season, they will need to add significant depth to their squad.
With Moses likely to return to Chelsea on loan, the attacking midfield positions are in need of extra bodies and the signing of Tore would only increase the quality of players Bilic could opt to start with.
Payet, Lanzini and Valencia would begin to feel greater threat to their starting roles, yet all players would be guaranteed minutes with the extra games.
Gokhan Tore, at the age of 23, would join a West Ham squad with their best years ahead of them .
Tore, as an attacking player, is likely to peak within the next 4 or 5 years and we can expect to see the Turk causing all sorts of problems for Premier League defences if the Hammers sign him.
When you combine this with Lanzini, Valencia and Kouyate, West Ham have a squad that could retain its spine for another 5 or 6 years.
