West Ham United will not be rushed in deciding whether or not to loan out Nathan Holland during the January transfer window, according to Claret & Hugh.

The Hammers dedicated website has suggested that a decision will only be made on his short-term future following their FA Cup match against Gillingham on January 5th.

Holland has been highly impressive in the Hammers' reserve ranks this term, having won Premier League 2 Player of the Month for November after already being nominated once this campaign.

This recognition has come as a result of how prolific he has been for the U23s, scoring 11 goals and adding a further six to that tally in 12 league games, helping the team to continue their current unbeaten run.

He has even begun taking a step up to the first-team, having made substitute appearances against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal.

There were positive signs to take from these performances, as in the 31 minutes he made three dribbles and was fouled once, which offers an indication of how he can translate his direct style of play from the U23s to first-team football.

This should be seen as highly encouraging for the Hammers, considering the lack of pace possessed by Robert Snodgrass, Pablo Fornals and Andriy Yarmolenko, with Holland adding another quick option aside from Felipe Anderson.

While achieving regular game time this campaign would be useful for his development, it can be said that these signs indicate that West Ham could be best off keeping the 21-year-old at London Stadium this term.

Something that also plays into this way of thinking is that Grady Diangana is already out at West Bromwich Albion, where he has scored five goals and provided five assists.

It could be worth sending him out on loan once Diangana makes his return to London Stadium, but they should keep him at West Ham this term.
