How West Ham must line up when they host Watford on Saturday
Moyes lined up with a three-man defence against the Seagulls last weekend, and it’s fair to say that the trio of James Collins, Angelo Ogbonna and Declan Rice all struggled – particularly with the first goal.
While Ogbonna has been one of the club’s best performers at the back this season, he has played every minute of every game since the October 28, and perhaps he needs a breather with his performances beginning to dip in recent weeks.
Moyes had Winston Reid and Jose Fonte on the substitutes’ bench at the Amex Stadium, and at least one – and perhaps both – of them could start against Watford.
With a lack of attacking options and Marko Arnautovic unlikely to be involved from the start even if he proves his fitness, West Ham could stick with the 3-4-2-1 system with Aaron Cresswell likely to start on the left despite Patrice Evra’s arrival, while Pablo Zabaleta is likely to start ahead of Sam Byram on the opposite side if he isn’t needed in central midfield.
