West Ham United have had a mixed bag of results this season, and they will be licking their wounds this week following a heavy 4-0 defeat to Manchester City.
As it stands, Manuel Pellegrini’s men sit 13th in the Premier League table, and have failed to win their last two matches.
The club are suffering from an injury crisis, with right-sided players Ryan Fredericks and Andriy Yarmolenko on the sidelines.
Hertha Berlin ace Valentino Lazaro has the versatility to play as a right-back or winger, and according to The Express (November 25), the Hammers are interested considering a January move.
The 22-year-old has scored four goals and registered eight assists in 45 appearances in all competitions for Hertha, where he predominantly plays at right-back.
Pablo Zabaleta currently occupies that position at West Ham, so perhaps Lazaro is being earmarked as cover for Yarmolenko.
