Despite their impressive form of late, West Ham do still have a few areas that could do with some improvement if Manuel Pellegrini is looking to build a side fit for the present and the future at the London Stadium.

One of those areas is at left-back. Both Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku have failed to hold down the role on a consistent basis, with Pellegrini preferring to rotate the pair.

Masuaku is an exciting option to have down the left flank in terms of an attacking outlet, but his defensive ability is far from good enough for a Premier League defender.

In Cresswell's case, he is nearing his thirties and isn't a long term option at left-back. As a result of this, the Hammers should look to the transfer market and sign full-back Ghislain Konan, who has impressed in Ligue 1 this season.

The 23-year-old Ivorian is one for the present and the future, and has caught the eye with some consistently impressive performances in France this season.
