West Ham United pulled off an impressive January coup with the loan signing of Euro 2016 winner Joao Mario.

The midfielder made a £36m move from Sporting to Inter in the same summer he won the Euros with Portugal, but just 18 months later, he arrived in East London.

He is yet to score a Hammers goal, but he has picked up an assist and his struggles should be mitigated somewhat by those of the club in general.

He didn't feel like a typical David Moyes signing but he is a player of international class whom the Irons faithful will be hoping can contribute to their survival bid, starting on Saturday against Southampton at the London Stadium.

There is a feeling that there is still a lot more to come from a player who is still surely coming to terms with a new league and country as well as the realities of the relegation battle.

So that's why we're asking you; should West Ham snap him up on a permanent deal in the summer? Would another Premier League side swoop if they didn't? Let us know by voting in our poll below...
