West Ham are almost certain to add another striker this summer, so should they swoop for out of favour Liverpool youngster Divock Origi?
Mario Balotelli is the latest striker to be linked with a move to West Ham, and the Hammers definitely need to add some more attacking firepower this summer.
Manuel Pellegrini is clearly looking for a creative winger to atone for the loss of Manuel Lanzini, and it looks like Felipe Anderson will be that man.
As well as getting more support behind the striker though, the Chilean manager needs to bring in more goals up front to help Javier Hernandez.
The Mexican striker has still not committed his future to the club, but even assuming he stays the Hammers do not have enough up front, as Andy Carroll is injury prone and Jordan Hugill is simply not good enough.
Origi, who spent last season on loan with Wolfsburg, is likely to leave Liverpool this summer, as he seems to have fallen out of Jürgen Klopp’s plans.
The Belgian striker lost form after a devastating ankle injury in 2016, but he is a striker that feeds off confidence, and his versatility would earn him plenty of playing time at the London Stadium.
The 23 year-old can play on either wing, but he is happiest up front, where he can use his pace and power to bully defenders.
The Hammers are likely to add another centre back to the signing of Issa Diop, and Lazio’s Anderson could be joined by a central midfield signing, so a loan move for Origi would free up funds for those big money moves to take place.
So, West Ham fans, would you take a punt on Origi? Would you rather give Hugill a chance? Or should you be looking for a big name signing up front? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
