West Ham United have had their fair share of injuries this season, and there is a certain area on the pitch that needs some care and attention.

Pablo Zabaleta is currently Manuel Pellegrini's first-choice right-back, and at the moment is the only option due to Ryan Fredericks being on the treatment table.

Even though the former Manchester City star has been in good form, at the age of 33, it will be a struggle for him to cope with the hectic festive period.

Rather than jump into the January market to buy a new right-back, perhaps the Hammers should look closer to home.

Ben Johnson is currently part of the club's youth academy and has been impressing with the Under-23s.

The 18-year-old has made 10 Premier League 2 appearances, as well as three outings in the EFL Trophy.

Throwing the teenager into the deep end is a huge risk, particularly over the Christmas period as it is such a busy time.

However, given that his inclusion will avoid Pellegrini having to take current first-team members out of position, is it a good call?
