According to FC Inter News, West Ham United are considering a move for Inter Milan full-back Yuto Nagatomo at the end of the season.

What's the story?

Nagatomo has been with Inter since 2011, and the 101-time Japan international has made more than 200 appearances for the Italian giants in all competitions.

The 31-year-old made 13 appearances in the first half of this season, but was sent on loan to Galatasaray during the January transfer window.

As it stands, Nagatomo will return to Inter at the end of the campaign, but it has been suggested that the defender has played his last game for the San Siro giants.

According to FC Inter News, West Ham are closely watching developments surrounding the experienced Japan international, and the Hammers will monitor his performances over the next couple of months before deciding whether to launch a move this summer.

Are any other clubs in the hunt?

Well, according to FC Inter News, Watford have also expressed an interest.

Inter will need to sell at the end of the season before they can buy due to the Financial Fair Play regulations, and it is thought that Nagatomo is among those that will leave.

West Ham will fancy their chances of winning any race that might occur, especially considering that the Hammers have the lure of the London Stadium.

David Moyes' side already have a couple of ageing full-backs in Pablo Zabaleta and Patrice Evra, however, and it would be fair to say that the club's supporters want an injection of pace in that area of the field.

At 31, Nagatomo is no spring chicken, but he has a wonderful pedigree having played more than 200 times for Inter, and indeed earning 101 caps for Japan.

It is certainly one to watch ahead of the summer transfer window, but Galatasaray could also join the race if the full-back continues to impress in the coming months.
