Lots of West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to respond after Sky Sports reported that Issa Diop is on Manchester United’s radar.
According to the report, the Red Devils are prepared to offer £45m plus a player in order to land the 22-year-old centre-back, who the Hammers signed just last summer in a £22m deal.
West Ham ruined Arsenal’s unbeaten record at the Emirates in 2007 and history repeated itself at the weekend. Spurs fans don’t take it well in the video below…
The Frenchman starred for the Irons last term and made 38 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals.
Football.london’s West Ham correspondent Sam Inkersole revealed that the east Londoners will not entertain any talk of a Diop exit – it would certainly take a lot to bring the young defender to Old Trafford given how impressively he performed last term.
Former United boss Jose Mourinho singled out the former Toulouse man for praise when his side lost 3-1 to West Ham last season, so Diop is a player who United fans will already have witnessed the full force of.
Let’s see how the West Ham fans on Twitter responded to the transfer talk…
So United are apparently willing to offer £45m plus a player for Issa Diop.

No. We need to build on and add to the youth, not subtract. We’re on the right track for the 1st time in years.

Don't think we will sell Diop.
If we lost him that would be one of my biggest fears this window.
He's a good lad though he will stay imo #WHUFC
More worried about it in 3 years time if we not progressing same with Rice

Every player has a price and if one of the big teams want to pay the going rate, we should move on and re-invest in a good replacement.

I think we keep him and resist at 60m I can see them being tempted as open doors for better signings & depth for defense. Although, we won’t get a better player for now & need to limit amount of new signings.
I’d outright say no a laugh down the phone to them at 45m + player.

In regards to Issa Diop, I think West Ham should keep him despite our poor defending figures last season.
Diop is a very young talent at 22yrs and we are growing a squad here. If Man Utd want him he's worth keeping. #WHUFC #COYI

That’s what worries me. If Man Utd come calling that may turn his head. I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes. I wouldn’t take anything less than £90m. He has the potential to be one of the best CBs in the PL for years to come. I wouldn’t want one of their casts off either.
