Diafra Sakho scored from the most ridiculous of angles to put West Ham 2-0 up against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. Mark Noble provided the cross for Sakho to make a mockery of Hugo Lloris and his far post.
When West Ham announced the signing of Diafra Sakho from France’s Ligue 2 there wasn’t exactly a great deal of hype surrounding his arrival. There were suggestions that Sam Allardyce was not the man to pick Sakho, but rather West Ham’s co-chairman David Sullivan.
The Senegalese striker had managed 15 scored 39 goals across two seasons in Ligue 2, which would certainly fall short of anything that could be described as spectacular. However, it would seem that The Hammers found themselves a new hero in the man who cost them only £3.5m in the summer.
However, if Sakho keeps up this kind of form, West Ham may struggle to keep hold of their new found fan-favourite.
