West Ham United could sell Lucas Perez to Alaves in a bid to lower the price of defender Guillermo Maripan, per Ex-West Ham United Employee.
Maripan of Alaves is still a centre back target. He is Chilean compatriot of Pellegrini. We are currently negotiating with his club regarding a move for Perez and seeing if the two can be linked. Perez low cost means Maripan lower for example

The Hammers insider claims that the club are interested in signing the 25-year-old centre-back.
Maripan made a total of 25 appearances in all competitions but missed the final five games of the campaign due to an ankle injury.
A Chile international who has won 13 caps for his country, the club are attempting to discover whether or not they can link their attempted purchase of the centre-back with Alaves’ pursuit of Lucas.
The striker was included in the starting XI just four times in the Premier League and will be allowed to leave the club this summer.
The tweet claims that the Irons potentially allowing the ex-Arsenal forward to leave for a cut-price fee could lower the cost of the deal for the defender.
Lucas has been a genuinely atrocious signing for the Hammers.
He has never once managed to stand out while in east London and is possibly the worst signing they have made in recent memory.
Now, though, he finally has some use.
West Ham have identified Maripan as a potential recruit and it seems like the Spaniard could be the key to the transfer.
It does not make up for the disastrous showings of his stay in east London but, at the very least, he has finally added some value to the club.
