According to reliable club insider @ExWHUemployee on Episode 103 of 'The West Ham Way' radio show, West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere may have to settle for a spot on the substitutes' bench for the trip to Everton this weekend after suffering a knock in training.

The 26-year-old has been an ever-present in the east London outfit's starting XI this season following his summer move to the London Stadium after the expiry of his contract with Arsenal, although all four have ended in defeat.

The England international has certainly put some of his injury issues behind him in the previous couple of years, and he has played all but 26 minutes of their Premier League campaign so far this term after establishing himself as a key player under Manuel Pellegrini.

While @ExWHUemployee suggests that the midfielder will definitely be in the 18-man squad at Goodison Park this weekend, he may not be 100% ready to get the nod in the side that lines up on Merseyside.

Should Wilshere miss out, captain Mark Noble or Pedro Obiang look the most likely candidates to replace him – if Carlos Sanchez keeps his place having come under criticism from Irons supporters on Twitter following the 1-0 loss against Wolves last time out.
